We’re going birding with Weekend Birder! Join us on this very special walk with Kirsty Costa, teacher, science communicator, conservationist and host of our very favourite podcast, Weekend Birder. We’ll stroll through tranquil Sydney Park during twilight’s golden glow observing its rich birdlife all while having the chance to ask Kirsty a question or two. A literal urban oasis, Sydney Park’s wetlands are particularly serene late in the day with Welcome Swallows feasting on insects in acrobat flight and one last burst of activity from resident birds before they settle in for the night.

Walk details: We’ll begin with a short introduction to the birds of Sydney Park before heading on the walk with our small group. This walk will be on flat paved paths and is very close to public transport.

Some of the exciting birds we mighhhttt see along the way: Reed Warbler, Willie Wagtail, Little Black Cormorant, Tawny Frogmouth, Welcome Swallow, White-faced Heron, Buff-banded Rail, Little Grassbird, Galah, Little Corella and so much more :)

What you’ll get: An hour and half birdwatching walk with Stephanie, Amy and Kirsty including a special educational checklist for use on the day that can be reused. Plus, you’ll get a cute little Sydney Bird Club pin :)
