Join us after work before the sun sets on a festive Halloween walk through historic Gore Hill Cemetery, right in the heart of North Sydney. Among the backdrop of skyscrapers, we’ll travel back in time as we walk amongst Victorian sculptures, mausoleums and gravesites in our small group all while observing and recording the urban birdlife of this landmark cemetery.

With the roar of Sulphur-crested Cockatoos flying above us and the hum of the city in the background, we’ll play birding bingo for prizes and you’ll hear a few spooky stories about Gore Hill plus we’ll submit our birdwatching findings to be counted as part of the Aussie Backyard Bird Count. This walk is recommended for beginners or anyone who wants to have a little Halloween fun!

Some of the exciting birds we mighhhttt see along the way are: Australian Ravens, Sulphur-crested Cockatoos, Australasian Figbirds, Laughing Kookaburras, Pied Currawongs and more.

What You’ll Get: An hour and a half birdwatching walk with your guide Stephanie through Gore Hill with a bit of spooky history mixed in during the lead-up to Halloween including a special birding bingo checklist for a chance to win prizes. You’ll also get a Sydney Bird Club pin and a unique Halloween pumpkin carving stencil of an Australian bird to take home with you.

This walk is recommended for beginners or anyone who wants to have fun! Sydney Bird Club was founded by a couple of fun-loving artists (Stephanie and Amy from Outer Island). Our seasonal walks are free and a way for us to share our love for birds and the beautiful city we live in. Good vibes only!
